Meet Aislinn

I was born and raised in Waterloo region. I am a city councillor for Ward 10 and a social worker for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

Over the course of my career, I have developed refugee youth and family programming and supported immigrants of many cultures to find a sense of place and lead healthy lives after fleeing war. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping newcomers to Kitchener feel safe, valued and welcome.

As your MPP at Queen’s Park, I will put the residents of Kitchener Centre first, above party politics. I have taken a collaborative approach as a councillor and I will do the same as an MPP, an approach that puts the people first and a key difference in electing a Green candidate.

Why I’m Running

The day after I was elected to city council, the provincial government announced Bill 23 to allow development in the Greenbelt and restrict municipalities’ ability to put requirements on developers. It is one of many top-down policies that are having a major negative impact on our cities.

This and the Ford government’s continued history of undermining our climate goals and investing in a fossil-fuel powered energy grid, made my choice: if I want my kids – and all of us – to have a livable future, I must take this opportunity to hold the government accountable for their actions.

Greens are pushing governments to deliver. We are speaking up for improved social support program rates, for co-op housing and tenant protections, for renewable energy and better public health care.

As a movement for change, Greens can provide hope and make a real difference for so many when we unite and speak up together.
